Are you past the point of being saved?
Well the simple and quick answer is NO.... Let me prove that to you.
I shall lead you through a little of the life of a kid named Saul.. He was not a “ideal” lad and got mixed up with the wrong type of people at the start of his life..
I will pick up on a young lad named Saul, Acts 7:54, who started his life as a young “gang” member. As the youngsters in gangs do Saul started off by watching how things were done and hold the coats of the main members who did the bashing and killing of Christians. He watched as a Christian called Stephen was stoned to death. Probably the 2nd most terrible way of being killed.
Moving on through his life to the time he was an adult.. His rep had grown quite a lot and had moved his way up the gang ladder. By now he was at the top of the tree, The Don, as you may think. He was the kind of guy who would walk around threatening to kill Christians just because of what they believed. He used to get official letters from the leaders of that land and put Christians in prison for nothing.
If you read though Acts 9 you will follow Saul during this one day in his life that made a difference... We read...
As Saul and his crew were walking along the road to Damascus when he saw a blinding light and He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?”
“Who are you, Lord?” Saul asked.
“I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,” he replied. “Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”
So Saul stood up and the rest of his crew had to guide him to Damascus as he was made blind by the Lord.
So this guy who went around killing and putting followers of the Way, Jesus, actually realised at that time Jesus IS as powerful as he was told.
Saul also would have been in fear of his life at that point.. This hard guy who had power in his hands suddenly made blind for 3 days and having to have people help him.
For those 3 days he did not eat or drink.. Imagine what was going through his mind?
So the Lord spoke to a bloke called Ananias in a vision and said to him.. Go to straight street and ask for a man called Saul..
Ananias said to the Lord.. You must be kidding!! I have heard so much about this guy.. He put us followers in prison and stuff for fun!!
The Lord said to him.. Trust me! I have made Saul blind and he is waiting for you to heal him and then he shall be spread the Word to loads of people!
Ananias went to see Saul and placed his hands on his eyes and prayed for him to be healed and filled with the Holy Spirit.
Saul must have been really messed up in the head because 4 days ago he was preparing to arrest all the followers of the Word and now he has seen the Lord, been healed and now baptised.. What a huge change!!
Saul went from this man of evil to a man who then spread the Word to millions of people!
If God forgave Saul for what he had done, you now know he WILL forgive you, as he forgave me.
Are you the next Saul?
